| Exchange Traded CFD's |
|
Over the last 6 years contracts for difference (CFD’s) have been one of the most popular financial products in the Australian market place. This is largely due to the fact that you can go long or short CFD’s and they are less complex when compared to exchange traded options or other derivatives.
Enfinium International only provides direct market access exchange traded CFD’s. This means you have the added protection of the CFD being listed, traded and cleared on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Moreover this means you are trading on a regulated and transparent marketplace and not with on another providers self-made market.
ASX CFD's are not suitable for all traders and investors. Before trading ASX CFD’s you should carefully assess your experience, investment objectives, financial resources and all other relevant considerations and consult your adviser. In particular you should understand the implications of leverage, additional margin calls and unlimited losses on your investments. | What Are CFD's |
|
A futures contract that is settled in cash. That is, the underlying does not trade hands, and neither party needs to own it. Two parties simply designate each other as seller and buyer, and at the close of the contract one party pays the other the difference in value between the underlying's opening and closing prices, multiplied by the number of shares specified in the contract. If the difference is positive, the seller pays the buyer; if the difference is negative, the buyer pays the seller. An advantage to CFDs is the fact that they are exempt from taxes like stamp duties, because the underlying asset does not actually exist. However, they tend to work better as short-term investments because they are subject to daily financing charges. |
